It started out a dreary day but when Santa and Mrs.Claus arrived cheers could be heard by Civitan members and staff. Pictures were taken by Cathy, a Civitan Media Productions employee and Media coordinator, Laura. Assistance was given to all by Kate, a job coach.
Happiness could be heard as the lobby was turned into a place of abundant cheer as members of Civitan got to sit on Santa’s lap and have their photos taken. The free lunch that was served was the usual Christmas fare, stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy.”It was good.” Cody B. said as he was finishing up the last of his turkey. “It is good.” Cathy said as she was eating the lunch that was prepared for her by the culinary department.
When asked what Christmas meant to them most the those who were asked said family, but some had some humorous responses “Family and presents.” Diana said laughing. However, after a few long moments of contemplation, Candice, an employee of Civitan just wanted her student loans to be paid off, while Jeanne, another employee at Civitan said Christmas meant fruitcake.
At the end of the day members who wished gathered in the “demo kitchen” and decorated cookies with the help of some amazing staff members while other members and staff looked on in amazement.
